April 2, 2014 – Los Angeles – Sandra Fluke, candidate for California State Senate, today announced the endorsement of Jennifer Seibel Newsom and several women leaders from the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls and the Los Angeles Commission on the Status of Women. Fluke has previously been endorsed by a broad range of women leaders from California and across the country.
“I am proud to stand with Sandra Fluke in her bid for California State Senate. Sandra is a strong, hardworking, and dedicated individual with an impressive passion for public service. She is a strong role model and is the right choice to fight for equality and progress in Sacramento,” said Jennifer Seibel Newsom.

Fluke also received the endorsement of several women from California’s most prominent commissions on women’s issues, including: Rebecca Blanton, Executive Director, California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls*; Farrah Parker, Executive Director, City of Los Angeles Commission on the Status of Women**; Araceli Campos, President of LA City Commission on the Status of Women*; and Hon. Susan Rose, Former Executive Director, City of Los Angeles Commission on the Status of Women*.
Fluke has previously been endorsed by leading women’s groups and voices in California and across the country, including NARAL-CA; Women’s Campaign Fund; Gloria Steinem; Christine Pelosi, Chair, California Democratic Party Women’s Caucus*; and Sarah Weddington, Attorney who won Roe v. Wade.
