CALIFORNIA LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS ENDORSES SANDRA FLUKE
California’s Environmental Political Action Arm Strongly Supports Sandra Fluke
Los Angeles – (August 4, 2014) – The California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV), one of the most trusted environmental organizations in California, today endorsed Sandra Fluke for State Senate. CLCV protects the environmental quality of the state by electing environmentally responsible candidates and holding them accountable once elected. In a race where environmental issues are a top priority for the district and for Sandra, CLCV’s endorsement is particularly meaningful.
“CLCV seeks to endorse leaders who have the policy vision and priorities to move California forward on the issues of climate change, water and transportation. We believe that Sandra Fluke has the commitment and talent to be that kind of leader,” said David Allgood, CLCV Political Director. “The communities of the 26th Senate District will be in good hands with Sandra representing them, and we look forward to working with her to protect our environment for generations to come.”
Fluke said, “Global climate change is one of the most critical issues of our time, and we must work together to make necessary progress. CLCV is such a critical partner in this work and I am incredibly proud to have their support. From finding local and sustainable solutions to our state’s water crisis, to increasing investment in transportation projects and alternatives, to protecting our coast, and finally placing a moratorium on fracking – protecting our environment will always be one of my top priorities. I look forward to getting to Sacramento to continue my work on these critical issues.”
Fluke has previously been endorsed by a number of prominent environmentalists and elected leaders who have championed environmental protection, including Nancy Sutley, Former Chair, White House Council on Environmental Quality*, Jonathan Parfrey, Executive Director, Climate Resolve*, Aaron Paley, Executive Director & Co-Founder CicLAvia*, U.S. Rep Julia Brownley, State Senator Holly Mitchell, State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, Los Angeles Councilmember Mike Bonin, and former Councilmember Bill Rosendahl.
